Mike and Ikes are my new sweet thing. They're excessively cheap, only $0.88 each at Wal-Mart. You used to be able to get them single, now you have to buy 3 to get that deal. Oh well, I will eat 3 long before they expire. Superstore also sells them cheap.

They have no fat, which is good. Negligible sodium as well. However, a package does have quite a few calories, so it's best if you split a package up into 2 or 3 portions and eat those. If you ziploc them, they become portable. Like trail mix, only not as nutritious.

Some of you might remember my references to 1984 from my early days on Saveland. Langara (a local college) was putting on a performance that I had heard to be very good. Since I have more free time than I've become accustomed to, I decided to go. I got my ticket (which was a great seat) for a very reasonable price. The theatre was sold out, as well.

The show was fantastic. I wasn't disappointed in the least, which is rare. Especially since I love the book so much. It held true to the story, even though there were a few lines I was expecting that had been cut. The creative liberties that they took, including the musical scene, were well done. They had managed to say some of the lines in a humourous manner, which I had never thought of before. Overall, it was a very enjoyable performance.

Earth Hour was great. It really makes me believe that sometimes, technology interferes with our ability to communicate with each other. I had a great time and caught up with some people. I'm definitely going to do it next year, and sort of wish it was a monthly or weekly thing, now.

I bought Butterball Turkey Bacon, because it was on sale. Butterball is a great brand name, but I was disappointed by the fake taste of the bacon. As opposed to other brands, it was a massive disappointment. I will continue to spend less money to buy my regular brand, but now I have way too much of this bacon in my refridgerator, which I will have to find some way to use up.

Delta Cable is an "Eastlink Company". Until very recently, they had somehow managed to ingratiate themselves with the municipal government, forcing us to get our internet from them. Thankfully, this has changed, and we can now get Shaw. Delta Cable is terrible. Their internet is always very slow at 8PM. They put advertisements on television in the middle of your program, that play at twice the comfortable volume, and are always very annoying. You miss your show while this happens, not the advertisements from the show. Since they had a monopoly, their customer service was terrible. It might improve.

I ordered a plate of Sanma at a Japanese all you can eat today, down in Metrotown, BC. Let this stand as a warning - do not EVER do this! I had no idea what Sanma actually was. I wish I had been warned!

Basically, Sanma is a fried fish, with the back tail (I should look up the proper name...) chopped off. The head remains. Also, all of the bones. There are a few thousand miniature bones embedded in it, with no easy way to pull them all out at once. If the bones don't stop you, the organs will. They have, to an extent, liquefied. Couple this with the blood that is oozing out, you get a meal that is not at all appetizing.

This biography is about THE LAST GREAT TSAR, Alexander II. The title is a play on THE LAST TSAR, talking about Nicholas. Of course, the majority of the novel talks about his death, and the plans that were laid to bring it about. I never had any idea just how much went on. Quite enlightening! I learned a lot reading this, and would recommend it.

This is an old book, written using a pseudonym. It takes place 700 years after WW2, where the Nazis were victorious. They have deified Hitler, and eradicated all minorities, and set up a totalitarian society. The book focuses on the treatment of women/english in the future regime. Overall, it's quite a slow read, with an abrupt ending. I wouldn't recommend it, personally.

Backgammon is an ancient game, in which you attempt to move your stones to the other side of the board and take them off. It is a game of chance and strategy, played with two dice. If doubles are rolled, the player moves 4 times.

Backgammon is a great timewaster, as games are relatively quick.

Do not get this! I bought it in MTF for $0.31, and it was terrible. It also had no nutritional info. I'd recommend spending another $0.40 and getting something that has a brand name.

I am not amused with this place. They shipped a coupon for $5, then locked all their doors to stop people from being able to get in.

Ten thumbs down for this horrible practice!

The Law Of Nines is a book, written by Terry Goodkind. It is about a man, and his mother, who have a genetic predisposition to insanity, which is triggered by their 27th birthday.

The plot does not make a lot of sense, unfortunately. This is to be expected, since the book takes place while the main characters are heavily drugged, in a mental institution.

Since the book is outrageously expensive, I would not recommend it.

I went to JYSK today, in hopes of finally finding finishing furnishing for my bathroom. In particular, I was looking for a shower curtain, and some rings to go with it.

While JYSK was carrying quite an excessive amount of curtains, and they were advertising a sale, when I tried to pay, there was a serious altercation. They were insisting that the curtain was NOT on sale, even when confronted with the evidence of the sale sign, advertising them at $20. The normal cashier was willing to accept this, but there was an obstinant clerk who had taken over his station and was refusing to accept my reasoning.

In the end, I got it on sale. As I was leaving, I saw the woman tear up the sale sign.

I have never seen anything like this before. If you advertise a sale, the goal is to entice people to buy it, not bludgeon them!

This printer is extremely defective. It has taken to printing in gibberish, when the text on my screen is clearly in English. It also botches colours, and prints inconsistently, and often very lightly. I would definitely not recommend it to a potential buyer.

I first saw this movie some months ago. When I first watched it, I did not realize its incredible genius. It is, to quote "the only movie that can rival The Outer Limits". As you probably know, The Outer Limits is a series that I greatly enjoy. Tim has actually given away a few seasons away as DVDs for prizes, as part of the Saveland-Alliance promotion.

Donnie Darko is about a schizophrenic teenager, named Donald (Donnie) Darko. The film consists of a series of somewhat disjointed scenes, as he lives out the last 28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes and 12 seconds of his life.

Warning: Plot Spoilers

Donnie becomes fixated on the concept of time travel, and an old woman in the neighborhood writes a book about the subject, which he recieves from one of his teachers after flooding the school. He lights a pedophile's house on fire, and ends up throwing a party at his house, where his girlfriend shows up and reveals that her stepfather has abducted her mother. They go to the old woman's house, where she is hit by a car after a struggle with two boys from their school. The movie ends when he travels back in time, in order to prevent the tragedy, and instead ends up dying himself.

I have just finished reading this book, written by Kurt Vonnegut in 1973. It is alternately known as "GOODBYE BLUE MONDAY", which is a phrase that was repeated several times throughout the text. The plot of the book is secondary to its message, themed around American culture.

The writing style of Breakfast of Champions is, to put it plainly, coarse. Profanity is not rare, and the ideas expressed can be quite controversial. In addition to this, the book can be incredibly random. Many of the ideas seem to be inspired by insanity.

Despite this, it is quite entertaining, if you can handle the meandering narrative and the language.Breakfast of Champions

I recently had the opportunity to purchase a massive bar of chocolate from Superstore. It was huge - by far the largest I've ever seen. The value was unparalleled - it only cost twice as much as a regular bar, but it had 5-10 times the chocolate! It was an amazing find, for sure.

They had several selections available. The variety ranged from milk chocolate to dark, with almond infused and orange chocolate variants being offered as alternatives. My choice was, predictably for those of you that know of my dark chocolate tastes, the 72% pure dark chocolate. The President's Choice bar turned out to be an excellent choice! I had enough chocolate to last me for more than 2 weeks in this one bar. It is a fantastic value, and I would gladly recommend it to any chocolate lover. The only downside is, now I don't want to go back to eating 60% bars!

With some effort, I managed to find a decent picture of this giant chocolate creation:CHOCOLATE!

Aurex is a respectable name in the calculator market. Because of this, I chose to purchase one of their scientific calculators a few years ago. To be specific, it was model number DS-732. I cannot find a picture of this specific calculator, unfortunately.

It allows you to use 8 standard digits, with two-figured scientific notation, allowing you to have numbers up to 99999999 X 10^99, which is enough for most people to function on! The setup is a bit unusual, but not so bad once you become accustomed to it. You have to press the keys in the reverse order of what other calculators require. Why this is, I do not know, but you quickly adapt, so long as you aren't switching between the DS-732 and another, newer model. The calculator does not have a method for doing single step equations, the steps must be plugged in individually. In addition to being time consuming, care must be taken to avoid BEDMAS mistakes. To make things easier, the calculator allows you to store a single number in its memory, that is retained through all calculations. This variable is even stored when the calculator is turned off.

Since there is no solar panel, the calculator runs off of battery power. I have never had an issue with it malfunctioning, so no complaints there.

As far as the more advanced mathetmatics go, it can somewhat handle them, but is far from optimal. It does well handling the basics, though, which is all most people will need.

I think the new polls overview is brilliant. It makes it plausible to compile data from all of your polls, and easily see how popular individual polls are. It also allows you to find which ones you have not voted in, so you can make your own voice heard.

However, something seems to be not working on the comments. It says that every poll has 0, even if it does. Or else, it's too late to be Savelanding!

Well, to make a long story short (too late!) I went to go see Toy Story 3. I have never seen the previous installment.

To sum up the entire experience, I'd rate it as "not bad, but not spectacular"

I'm withholding judgment on whether my money was well spent.
