DSLR Cameras
So I've wanted a DSLR Camera but even entry level ones that I've seen such as the Rebel Ti are pretty steep in price.  Anyone know of any alternatives or others that sell for cheaper?

Actually disregard that. I'm just looking for anything that'll take HD Video with a decent fps.

I bought a Sony DSC-W230 camera from Superstore in July 2009. Quite like it ... it's the black version of this model here (see link below). I waited until their Tax Free weekend in-store ... used my PC Mastercard (for points), combined it with my grocery purchase (and got a $25 gift card afterward) and used a pre-existing giftcard of mine with the camera/grocery combo' purchase. Worked out well. I bought the 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo in the mid-fall or so (when they had it on 50% off also at Superstore).

My dad just bought a back-up camera for himself, and also got one for his gf as well.

The Nikon Coolpix models. They were recently on sale for $89 at London Drugs earlier this month.

I have a few Nikons. I am a photographer and love the Nikon brand. I picked up a D3000 at future shop a few months back for like $400 which was great.
I bought my D60 from ebay as a kit.. came with 2 lens, tripod, a crappy flash, and a ton of other goodies for cheap.

Have you checked out kijiji?

All the compact digital camera are close together in quality. I look for a camera with a high ISO of at 6400 - most cameras have an ISO of 3200 . The higher the ISO the more the camera's sensitivity to light - at low light situations like late in the evening, or indoors, the camera will not need a flash. Pictures are brighter. The second factor is the number of pixels 10 and above is good - the more the pixels, the better the detail in the picture especially if you want to blow up the image to an 8x10 .

Thanks Evan. I love that site.. You can round up some good deals on there. Or get rid of stuff you no longer want.
PG13- I agree. My first digital was a kodak z710 and used it a few times and it did the trick. The hubby used it as a second shooter when I first started up the only thing I hated was that you don't have to many choices.. I shoot in raw which makes my editing fun in LR but when he would shoot in JPEG and I edit in LR I couldn't really play around with my presets as much with his images. Normally it was always just adjust a few sliders and that was about it. But for someone who wants a camera and doesn't want to spend a ton of money I would suggest getting one like the Z710 it had a tiny lens and surprisingly I found some attachments on ebay for it such as filters, wide and telephoto extensions for cheap. SO I would say get one of those, play around with it until you feel the need to really spend the money on a DSLR camera. Or if you know its something that you already enjoy and love then spend the few bucks and get a nikon :)

CL is also good for used gear. I've bought and sold lots of camera equipment on there.
