Airlines
What are your airlines experiences? I always find Westjet people are truly helpful and friendly, the commercials are right. That said, Air Canada people are always much nicer than US airlines staff. But I've seen a grumpy one or two. If WestJet had points, I'd fly them more often.

Almost spot on from my surveys. Air Canada compared with US staffing is much better. But compared to Westjet they dont really hold up. I take westjet when I can all depending on who gets me their quickest and then less money.

Westjet for sure, my kids fly out to their Dad's 2 to 3 times a year we never have a problem with Westjet, last Christmas however they ended up flying on Air Canada and both trips go to and coming back were horrendous for the kids. Their flights were all delayed, all four of them, they had to fly from where we live to Toronto then to Winnipeg and vise versa on the way back. Coming home was the worst their plane broke on the tarmac just before take off, they were told it was going to be 2 DAYS to get another flight home and then they would have to go to Ottawa first, then they were put on 3 different flights, then the original plane got fixed so they were put back on that plane and back out on the tarmac and then the engine froze up. Needless to say my kids made it home 12 hours after they were supposed to be home and barely made it to Toronto to get their connecting flight and Air Canada offered them nothing not even a meal in compensation. I was very lucky that this was the trip that their Uncle decided to fly with them on other wise I shudder to think what would have happened to my kids. With west jet I put them on the plane in London and about 3 hours later they are where they are supposed to be. No worries at all with west jet ever, I think once they were 5 minutes late landing.

Yes, Westjet is great, they held the plane for us once in Alberta, when we were held up at check-in due to long line-ups ahead of us, unfortuanelty they sent my sundries bag off to Victoria, instead of with us & eventually we received a voucher for the next time we fly!

Friends of mine say Allegiant Air out of Bellingham are quite good and very reasonably priced. Never dealt with them before/yet.

@Laura,din,t have to pay for drinks either? I heard some friends of mine say that that Porter is opening up some new flights so they must be doing ok ,were the landings rough at both ends, heard there was a reason why it might have been rough landing in TO.
