{I was checking the weather for friday when I saw the "flash freeze" alert so I looked further to see what they meant by that--gotta love how they focus on possible traffic jams in the GTA......there are a lot of people who will be affected by these conditions living outside Toronto}

February 9, 2012 — Friday's commute home from work may be a tricky one in southern Ontario. Cold temperatures and wet snow could create a flash freeze.
A special weather statement issued by Environment Canada warns of a possible flash freeze on Friday.
"Most of southern Ontario will start to see light flurries and wet snow Friday afternoon," says Gina Ressler a meteorologist at The Weather Network. "Then as the cold front moves through, temperatures will drop significantly."
The combination of wet snow freezing on untreated surfaces and a couple centimetres of fresh snow may create flash freeze conditions in the region.
"And the timing of this freeze is the biggest concern," warns Ressler. "It looks like it could impact rush hour traffic in the Greater Toronto Area Friday night, so drivers should be prepared for deteriorating conditions on the roads."
The cold temperatures are expected to persist through the weekend.
