I made it to gold level with starbucks got a very nice e-mail thanking me for being a good customer. I am now on my way to a free drink every 14 stars in my case that will be a free drink every two weeks.  I would be buying these anyways so its nice to get rewarded just because.

Right on, Isha. Nice to have those freebies awaiting you in the future for being a loyal, consistent customer. Reminds me of the Subway point card system in years past. Always found those fun especially when Subway was taking off in Canada back in the early-90s or so. Plenty of deals / promotions and it was nice getting the occasional free sandwich (if visiting with a friend or family member).

@roxybeachgirl you have to use a registered starbucks card which I do anyways for some of the rewards they already had for having a card. Its based on how many times you use the card not what you actually buy so I could have gone there 10 times in one day and bought the cheapest thing I could find but I just stuck to my regular routine. The extra perks already started I noticed today I stopped drinking the x-mas drinks earlier because they were about $1 more than my regular latte's for the same size, today I noticed the price drop to the same price as a regular latte

Got my first set of special coupons this week $1 off coupons for starbucks items in grocery stores

thanks everyone. They only started this promotion in October so it took me about a month. I just noticed that the safeway starbucks isn't giving me my stars or rewards so no more going there on the weekends. The nice thing about it is you only need around 60 stars within one year to be at gold level for another full year that's not a problem for me. Only 2 more visits for my first free drink.
