Gas is often some of the priciest in Canada in B.C. (especially the GVRD). We've been hovering around $1.10 - 1.17 / L for the better part of the past 4 - 6 months. It's finally dipping a bit ... so thankfully I've been able to use about 30 or so of those coupons the past year and change at $2 off per fill-up.
Yes - no worries about overstocking here. My fridge and pantry are pretty bare. Mostly just fruits/vegetables/milk/eggs/bread/juice/grains/rice/cereals, etc. Pretty bachelorified, lol.
As far as stockpiling ... yes .... I see that happen with people who stock up HUGE on some goods. Must take awhile to use up all those goods or food items. As long as they have proper freezer/pantry space for it, I it works for them. Especially for those who are able to coupon-stack and such and get goods for verrrrrry cheap.
Hoarding though ... I see that more with peoples' non-food goods. Such as what gets seen with the illness that is compulsive hoarding ... as is showcased on Hoarders (A&E) or Hoarding (TLC), etc.

The Ultra PC paper towels,6 rolls,2ply were $3.49 yesterday. The best price out of all the brands there. Tried them for the first time and they are thick. I will keep buying these if the price is right.

Good stuff. How do you find the pricing on same at Shoppers Drug Mart? Got a couple of members and coworkers who say they're pretty good on towel pricing too.

Dinger - that's real stocking up, good for you. The price has skyrocketed on tomato juice in last year or so.

Noah - yes ... it truly does fluctuate. I used to buy V8 Low Sodium more (1.89L) when I had the $1.00 off coupon when buying 2 and when they were on sale. They really tend to go up/down price-wise though. I settled on my PC Blue Menu healthy veggie juice a weekend ago this past Sat'. They were on for $1.89 so I bought 4 ... which will last me 4 - 5 weeks.

Thanks for the heads-up, Fluffy. They don't go on sale too often. Usually (recent years) they'd just advertise for Doritos and such (at $2 - 2.50 a bag) ... haven't seen Kettle chips advertised in some time.

Polly - the pricing here in B.C. has still been in the $1.139 - 1.169 range the past number of weeks now.
It was definitely a welcomed relief gassing up in places like Northern/Southern Cali, Oregon, Seattle, and Bellingham on the roadtrip between Oct. 19th - 27th/28th. We found that on average prices hovered at the $3.05 - 3.29/3.35 range per gallon in the States. Whereas we'd be paying the equivalent of $4.31 - 4.41 per gallon here in B.C. ... our best gas-ups were at $2.81 and 2.89 at 2 stops. We got it for $2.81/gallon in Bellingham last Wednesday mid-evening which was great ... as prices had been higher in Oregon and Seattle by quite a bit. All in all ... it was nice being able to gas up the car for quite a bit less, plus gas for the whole trip was well under $200. It was also cool seeing the mileage/consumption ratio as well. At home ... I'd be getting about 425 - 450km per tank (freeway and light city) ... whereas we averaged 580 - 610km per tank (freeway) in the 2000 Echo on the trip ... which was nice to see.
