Home Hardware and Home Depot both are depots in our area for recycling of old used batteries. Just put them in a plastic bag and deposit them in container at the store.

Noah, also, if you check your local arena, they have a battery drop off as well. At least in my area they do. We had a whole big bin half full of them we have collected over the last few months, it was great!!! (You know, a young boy and his toys and all of them take different size batteries, so expensive)

You can drop these off at the landfill site in Durham Region for free

It's great to keep them out of the garbage.
