Isha, have you received your gold card yet? Just got mine and it's BEAUTIFUL! I wonder whether they will end up changing their policy of one star per transaction? Personally, each time I go in now, I find myself asking them to run all my purchases up as separate transactions so that I can get maximum stars. At one Starbucks, I was buying those little scones (3 for $2) and a coffee and asked whether the cashier could run them through separately (meaning 2 transactions) and she misunderstood and rang each tiny scone up separately, so I got 4 stars. Not what I had intended but not a bad strategy! I've nearly got my first free coffee and I only go about once a week! Cheers!

My silly husband didnt register the $50 starbucks card I gave ( from this great site!) so he missed out on the stars. On a positive note our local was giving out vouchers for any size/type free drink after you did an online survey. nice!

Guppy, you should register the card anyway - if you have a registered card, you will get a free coffee of ANY size on your birthday. Once you register a card, there are a lot of free perks (so to speak) anyway like free refills on brewed coffee in the store and no charge for flavoured syrups etc. If you reload the card and use it you can start collecting stars. Also, re the survey you mentioned, always ask for your receipt when you make a purchase even if using a gift card - anytime you get one of those surveys (completing them takes only about 2 minutes), you will get a code for a free coffee! A lot of people don't ask for or take their receipt and are losing out on a great freebie.

Congrats on your reward. I don't frequent SB as often. I try to support local. Fantastico's is superior and always a good latte. SB was hit and miss.

@andra congrats on your card. I have had mine for a while have received 4 free drink vouchers so far. I don't do the seperate transactions but I do get all my friends that don't want to register to use my card they get a discount I get a star its a win win. They know me pretty well at all the starbucks I go to (way to often) so if a drink survey does come up
they tell me about it but it has been awhile oh welll I am getting free drinks anyways.

@claesa I hear you on supporting local I go to one near my house on weekends but during workdays I work in downtown and there aren't a lot of independant ones there plus I find other places coffee too strong. I agree starbucks isn't the greatest but I am addicted.

I would have - I kept asking him but short of taking his wallet, that isnt happening. Next time I will just register it before I give it to him :s

We do get the free drink postcards on other registered cards but are missing out on the stars on this one! We always get a receipt too, just to remind us what each cards remaining balance is, but this was the first itme I got the seperate printout with the survey info. You have gotten them mant times before? Good to know - maybe we'll get more free venti chai lattes!

Guppy, I've gotten surveys a few times, plus one of the barristas that I'm on good terms with will give me ones that he has saved up from customers who didn't ask for their receipts! There are some great promotions on right now (Feb 9-11) where you can taste 3 different blends and get a good sized sample (2 oz package) of the new Blonde coffee. My daughter and I went in today and each of us got one. They also gave us a really cute Valentine's card that allows you to treat a friend to a free hot chocolate or Mocha latte on Valentine's day if you order one yourself.
