Today I was told Sobeys no longer gives a 3 cent refund on your own bags you bring. I wonder why.

The Sobey's I go to has never done this. But it's a bit of a backwards move on their part. They should continue to reward people who bring reusable bags.

Surely a way for them to save money. We dont have that store, but I suspect this - could ask manager why the change.
Do they charge for plastic bags too? If so, then they are definitely looking purely at cost as they break even either way now.

Never knew this, that they stopped... but I rarely shop there. I LOVE their store for the variety, but simply find it extremely expensive!

I do not shop at Sobeys but my parents do. They do not offer this at the one they shop.

I guess it is expected that by now, we all know to bring our own.
Concidering some of the great sales and contests sobeys been having,I'll have to allow it.

Ok, today I was at Sobey's and did check carefully. I got a 3 cent refund for the three bags I brought/used.
I'm in Alberta, by the way.

@000987...yes Sobey's is a bit more expensive. I shop there only when I am in the area and I collect Aeroplan points.
