6399 - agreed. Alot of teens and young adults splurge on Blackberry, Iphone, and (An)droid model phones and such ... but it's moreso just a status-type thing, and to keep up with modern times and such. Not always a necessity (although I do know a handful of business people, and those in the financial and real estate fields personally who use their Blackberry phones all the time for work-related purposes). Me personally ... just a simple Samsung phone via Bell. Been with them for 6.5 years on a plan with plenty of discounts/perks and 30% savings. Part of a Corporate PCS agreement (via health care work oncall/part-time back in 2004 and such) and have been able to grandfather my contract along/forward.

I've got a Telus pay as you go. Ended up buying the $100 for year & that's a good deal. I'm not a big user.

Rogers has the same deal on their pay as you go, and if you reload before the year is over, the left over money is rolled to the next year.
