* Trade in your old MP3 player (or Ipod device) for $40 + credit on your Ipod Touch 4th generation purchase

A heads-up for those in the market for a 4th generation Ipod Touch. Best Buy's been doing this promotional program within the past year or so, and it's a good way to recycle older devices to get as credit towards a new device purchase. Trade in any MP3 player for $40 towards a new purchase, or additional savings when trading in an older Ipod device.

My mom, aunt, 'self, and friends own the 2nd generation models from a few years ago and we're all pleased. My brother owns a 4th generation model from the fall of 2010, and I'm thinking about buying another device in a year or two and I'll look into this program. Been really happy with the older model 2nd generation from 2009, and use it every day. Great for music / podcasts and wi-fi connectivity (checking email and quick web surfing). Very convenient and durable device(s).

Interesting reading. I have neither of these items and really have no interest in buying them but still like to read about them.

Evan, very cool. No, I don't own an iPod. Never have a chance to listen to personal music in private...I listen to everything on youtube when I get a moment.

Jenna - they're some pretty fun devices. Before I left the house on Sunday afternoon I checked my emails and such using the wi-fi. Later in the day at work I listened to some tunes at work, and then when I got home I listened to a sports podcast (from Vegas Friday night) as I wound down. Pretty fun stuff. I'm always impressed with the battery life too. All pretty good (so long as you're not using alot of wi-fi, and games/apps). The listening to music ... numerous hours.

Thanks for the heads up. My iPod is about 5 years old now and I'm thinking about getting a new one. Every saved dollar counts.

You're welcome, Ethan. I'm thinking about same as well. I've had my older 2nd Gen' Ipod Touch since late-July 2009. I may upgrade to the 4th generation (or wait for the 5th) come 2012 or 2013. Love the device. Use it every day.
