Only discovered this place due to a groupon even though I have walked by it a few times and never realized it was a restaurant.
It only opened recently in vancouver. The inside is very nice small but it is well decorated. The owner was very nice he talked to us about his life very friendly and even brought his mom out to meet us, his mom does the cooking. There weren't many people in the restaurant its new and hidden, it was early on a friday night and he did say that it get's busier later. The owner is originally from vancouver, but has been in the states for 20 years and has recently moved back. His brother is running their sister restaurant in Boulder Colarado, Bombay Bistro.
Our menu was a special menu but they gave us more than what was on it. They started out with some complimentary pakoras very nice. Then we had a choice of appetizer perfect size nice tasting samosa. Then we had our curries, rice, naan. Big portions very tasty food, you can't really beat an indian mother's cooking in and indian restaurant. Very fresh they make the sauces and everything from scratch.
And for desert chocolate samosas with mango coulis.
The service was great offered to give us more food even though we were stuffed, and some of us had chai they brought refills as soon as our cups were half empty.
There was four of us that went and all of us will be going there again. The food is just fresh and tasty, the service is great, the atmoshpere is comfortable. We wish it was open for lunch (only for parties).
I might just arrange a party so I can go there again. I definately recommend this and once people start trying it I am sure its going to be a popular place.
