Cibc was holding a yard sale to raise money for their cancer walk and I picked up this book by Donna Smallin. It has 500 tips for getting your life into order. She offers tips and ideas and solutions to tackle that huge problem of "CLUTTER". Her main goal is to get each of us "started". Plan to do this every day, somewhere in your home for just a short time, even if it is only 5 minutes per day. I usually start with a grandiose plan to declutter the entire house and within several days I am frustrated and tired of it and just give up. I like this approach much better, set a simple goal, pick a room and organize one shelf or one drawer, feel good about it and plan to continue the next day.
Now I just have to decide where to start first and stick to it. I shall get my timer ready so I don't do too much and be prepared to write down my accomplishment so I can feel good about it each day. Here's to de-cluttering 5 minutes per day.
