Not going to give any spoilers here since the movie is just out -- but just general feelings and impressions. Would give movie a 9/10 -- it isn't perfect, but perfectly captures the magic from the first couple of Star Wars movies.  For a movie that was 2 hours and 16 minutes long, it went really fast. Was great to see a lot of old characters return - Leia, Hans, Chewbacca, etc.. As for the new characters, Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn (John Boyega), I went into the movie thinking I probably wasn't goin...

Saw this at the gourmet food store up the street from me on Christmas Eve, and decided to splurge for a super-expensive dessert for the holidays.  It was over $15!  Yikes. Anyway, the pie was quite good, but not worth the price (however, is any pie worth that price?  LOL). It was sort of like a huge lemon tart.  The lemon filling was not as tart as I would like it to be, and almost tasted like it maybe had coconut in it.  But the best part of the pie was the crust.  A nice shortbread-...

I am not a fan usually of the seasonal drinks from Starbucks.  I find them too sweet and in some instances, overly spicy.  So when I got a bonus offer on Starbucks Rewards, I almost just deleted it.  Anyway, I was driving past Starbucks to the gym and needed a caffeine boost, so tried the Chestnut Praline Latte.  For those of you that aren't familiar with a latte, it is expresso and steamed milk.  It's not cheap -- a grande costs around $5, plus tax. It does have a nice flavor to i...

Have a number of starbucks awards to use, and have been trying drinks there that I havent tried before.  This time I tried the Vanilla Bean Creme Frappucino.  First of all, they don't have a lot of different frap flavors, and while I always saw this on the menu before, it just sounded a bit blah.  But if it was going to be free, I thought what harm would it be since it was free, and how bad could it really be if I found I didn't like it.  Actually, I was pleasantly surprised.  It ha...

Another limited time frappucino from Starbucks.  I believe it came out before, and they have recently re-introduced it (although it might be gone already by now from their menu).  It is a very nice summer-y drink, with the coconut flavor making this a very interesting (and tasty drink).  After having it  the first time, I actually asked them the next time I was there to make it a white mocha cocunut frap, and it made it a mellower (and better) drink.  And best of all, they sprinkle these toa...

This is one of Starbucks "limited-time" only fraps.  It came out at the same time asthe Strawberry Shortcake flavor which I have yet to try.  The Blackberry and Cream Frap is amazing.  Much better than the standard Strawberry and Cream flavor.  There is something about the sweetness of the blackberry flavor, along with the whipped cream topping, that makes this just sensational.  Not sure what else goes into the recipe -- probably just vanilla bean syrup.  But whatever goes i...

I hardly ever try a cold drink at Tim's, but recently saw the advertising for their new Chocolate Chill so thought I would try it out.  Very good.  Sort of like a milk shake but not quite as icy.  Just the right amount of chocolate flavour.  The only thing I don't like is that when you get to the end of the drink, and then drinking the portion of the beverage that was originally at the top of the glass, it seems kind of marshmallow-y.  So you just have to remember to constantly stir...

This new flavour just recently came out (I think about a couple of months or so ago), and it seems that not every store carries them, or some stores say they no longer carry them. But they are delicious! I like how Tim's introduces new flavours all the time, but once they hit a winner, they should keep it around a while. I also don't remember them even advertising this flavour, as I just saw it in the counter, and thought I would try them last week. They have a mild caramel taste -- with just the right hin...

I used to think that a lot of the bottled lemonades you could find in grocery stores tastes too "chemically", but that was before I found "Simply Lemonade".   Made with 11% lemon juice (not from concentrate), this is a perfect blend of sweetness and lemony flavor.  You can find big bottles of it in the cooled juice section of most grocery stores, and it is often on sale.  It also has a "Simply Orange" counterpart, and apparently other flavors too (which I am either t...

This is my favorite juice.  You can find it in most super-markets.  The Pomegranate flavor helps to offset the berry flavor somewhat so it is not sickly sweet like most juices (although don't forget that juice still has a lot of sugar).  And best of all, like the name suggests, the berry and pomegranate acts as anti-oxidants.  There is no additional sugar added, is a great source of Vitamin C. I believe there are some other flavors of this particular brand, but once I tried this one, it is h...

Bought this a week or so ago at Sobeys.  It had bonus Club Sobey's points, and it looked interesting so I though I would give it a chance. It is amazing.  The best bagged salad I have ever had.  The Greens are a nice mixture of kale, beet greens, broccoli, carrots and red cabbage.  Plus there is a small packet of toasted quinoa, another one of almonds, and some type of a cheese.  And a really nice creamy avocado herbed dressing.  Mixtured together, it makes a wonderful, wonderful s...

Sorry but this game seems to be a disaster.  While there seems to be lots of opportunities to win (hourly rolls, daily badges, purchase bonuses, etc), I have been playing this from the start, and have yet to win anything.  And worst of all, for your purchases bonuses in store, there is a scan code that you are supposed to show at the stores in order to get your credit for your purchases, but after the first week, since none of the stores knew what to do, or the scanner didn't work, I just gave up, and ...

Had this last year.  Nothing really grabbed me on the dessert menu, not even this pie.  But I had a sugar craving and tried it out. It was amazing.  A big slice of mocha flavored ice cream. With a chocolate cookie crust.  Then drizzled in chocolate sauce (it might have had some caramel sauce as well).  And then a sprinkling of sliced almonds to give it a bit of crunch and texture.  As it turns out, it is actuallly a very popular dessert there.  And no wonder.  Next time, tre...

Just recently joined the Starbucks Rewards program.  It comes with a handy app (that took me a week to figure out) where you can reload giftcards from Starbucks, then swipe your smartphone right at Starbucks cash registers.  There are various levels to attain, based on the purchases you make.  But once you make 30 purchases in 1 year, you reach the gold level.  And from that point forard, you get one free drink or food item for every additional 12 stars.  Best of all, you can get bonus stars...

I have been drinking this beverage for ages, and then maybe stopped for 5 years, and only have begun to drink them again, so have decided to review.  This is one of the speciality expresso drinks they make, and as the name goes, is made with white chocolate syrup and steamed milk.  For extra sweetness and richness, you can get a layer of whipped cream on top.  It essentially takes like a combination of hot chocolate and coffee, but on the mild side.  It is quite expensive - the tall's start a...
